PTA

Being a Parent, Teacher or Staff at the school means you’re automatically part of the PTA: it’s run by you for your school! We aim to run fun activities for the children and fundraise for the school. The number of activities we can run depends on the number of volunteers we have.

Get involved!

We usually meet on the first Friday of each month at 9:10am in the school. Everyone is welcome at the meetings so please do come along and get involved, whether by volunteering at the Winter Disco, helping to plan & attend events, baking / contributing food or simply by providing new ideas. Even if you can’t come to meetings or attend events, we are an open, friendly group of parents and we would love to encourage you to get involved in any way you can. yourPTA is only as strong as the number of volunteers we have. In other words - yourPTA needs you!

Right now were looking for parents to help organise the Summer Fete - please do come along to a meeting or email us if you'd like to find out more.

If you would like to be added to our email list, please email StoneydownPTA@yahoo.co.uk

Exciting News

Exciting plans for an outdoor reading area on the Junior Site are beginning to take shape! Kirsty O'Brien (outgoing PTA treasurer) successfully applied for two grants to put towards a reading space/ library to be built in the junior site playground. The school has been awarded a fantastic £9,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund, as well as £6,000 from The Foyle’s Foundation. This together with a generous £5,000 donation from the PTA, means that they are well on their way to creating an exciting, safe space where children can enjoy reading during break and lunchtimes.

The PTA are proud to support the school's mission for all our children to become life-long readers!

Special thanks to Kirsty O’Brien, whose enthusiasm and drive has helped make this all possible.

100 CLUB

We recognise that there are a lot of busy working parents who can’t contribute a lot of time to the PTA. Our new 100 Club is a nice way to allow parents to contribute while also having a bit of a flutter!

Here’s how it works…you complete a membership form and Standing Order mandate for £5 a month (or £60 annually by cheque). This form is available to down load here

This buys you one membership number and enters you into the monthly draw. The draw will take place by the second Monday of each month and one winner will take home up to £100 (depending on how many people sign up).

The remaining money goes to the school, via the PTA. To begin with, funds raised will be specifically reserved for the Artspace the school is hoping to build.

We are hoping to raise around £4,000 per year with this simple, fuss-free fundraising push.

The first draw took place in March 2018. Once all 100 numbers have been allocated, those wishing to join will be added to a waiting list for a number.
